I've always been fascinated with bugs, and there were plenty in Navasota. Technically, these are Asian lady beetles, and they loved crawling inside of my window and dying on the floor. Sweeping them up became a part of my daily routine, but I never felt right about just throwing out something that was once living. "Squatters" is a commemorative piece to all of the little squatters that took shelter in my room during their last moments of life.
