This study for "Dwellers" helped me understand how to orchestrate the composition, colors, and styles for the larger painting. With all of my work, I begin by creating a 3-D diorama, which I then photograph. I use the photograph as a reference for my paintings, and I find that by setting up my own images, it makes the dream come alive and feel real.
